Today morning after Breakfast, explore Munnar for a full day! Go to Blossom Park! Spread over around 16 acres, Blossom Park is located at a short distance of 3 kms from Munnar. The park is situated close to Pallivasal Hydro Electric Project. The rare species of flowers make this place worth visiting. Located at a distance of 6 kms from Munnar, Pothamedu View Point is full of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations. Pothamedu is covered with hills and green mountains. Trekkers and hikers love this place. Located at a height of 1700 m above the sea-level, Top Station is the highest point in Munnar. Located on Kannan Devan Hills, one can view the tea valleys, rare species of Neelakurinji plants from Top Station. Views of the Western Ghats and the valley of Theni from the Top Station are just out of the world. Known as a home of rare species of Nilgiri Tahr, Rajamalai or Eravikulam National Park is located at a distance of 15 kms from Munnar. Eravikulam National Park has number of species of sambar deer, jackals, Indian bisons and a variety of mongoose. It has also been declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located at a height of 2695 m, Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in South India. Anamudi Peak is situated inside the Eravikulam National Park. Carmelagiri Elephant Park is located about 5 kms away from Munnar. The elephant safari takes you through the lush forests and beautiful valleys that bring in an exciting experience. Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of 18 wildlife sanctuaries among the protected areas of Kerala. It is known for being the only rehabilitation centre for the Indian star tortoise in India. Devikulam is a wonderful picnic spot located 8 kms away from Munnar. The nearby Sita Devi Lake is frequented by visitors throughout the year. Situated at a distance of around 25 kms from Munnar, Kundala Lake is one of the best sightseeing places in Munnar. You must take a Kashmiri-style Shikara boat-ride at Kundala Lake. Located at a distance of 12 kms from Munnar, Mattupetty Dam is known for its beauty and weather. Visitors can enjoy a boat-ride in the lake of dam and also get involved in various activities. Today morning after Breakfast, check out and drive to Alleppey! Alleppey, also known as 'Venice of the East', is known for its scenic charms and lovely natural aura. The tranquil beach life, the scenic sunset of Alappuzha beach, the lovely food and the fresh air makes Alleppey a heavenly place. Go to Vembanad Lake, India's one of the largest and longest lakes in Kottayam District! This is also called Punnamada. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Kerala. Located on the banks of the Vembanad Lake in Kottayam, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is among the most popular bird watching spots in the country. Spread out over 14 hectares, one comes across numerous rare avian species in these parts. The main attractions are local birds like waterfowl, koel, owl, egret, heron, cormorant, moorhen, darter and brahminy kite, apart from migratory birds coming from the Himalayas and a few from Siberia. Holidaying in houseboats, floating over Kerala backwaters of Alleppey is like relishing life in completeness. After Breakfast, move to Kovalam and check in to the hotel! After some rest, go for sightseeing! Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. Groves of coconut trees form the major part of vegetation. Lighthouse Beach is a 30-m tall lighthouse erected on the Kurumkal Hill, right along the beach, that acts as a landmark to the beach and hence the name. When you climb over 140 steps to reach an observation area, you can see the village of Poovar on one side and Beemapalli Mosque on the other. Napier Museum is situated in the Museum compound, in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city, merely 18 kms far from Kovalam. Built in the 19th century, Kerala's rich cultural heritage is on display at the museum. It contains a host of historical artifacts including bronze idols, ancient mammals, a temple chariot and ivory carvings. The museum has been named after the former Madras Governor-General John Napier. Though Kanyakumari falls in Tamil Nadu, yet it is the part of our Tour. Later, go to Kanyakumari, renowned for being the southernmost point of India and the meeting point of the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and the Bay of Bengal! The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is located 500 meters off the mainland. To get there, you need to take a 15-minute ferry ride from Kanyakumari that operates from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. depending on the season. Standard tickets usually cost Rs 35. Today morning after Breakfast, go to Veli Tourist Village, which lies where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea, providing for unique boating and picnicking opportunities! Go to Varkala Beach, also known as Papanasam Beach! The beach is famous for its serene atmosphere, golden sands and dramatic cliffs. Later if time permits, go to Padmanabhapuram Palace! Over 400 years old, the palace is considered to be the largest wooden palace in Asia. Located right in the middle of the Padmanabhapuram Fort with the Veli Hills on the east, the palace presents a strategical situation with the protection offered by the hills and the abundance of fertile farmland and water. Later, proceed To Trivandrum Airport/Railway Station at a distance of nearly 18 kms for your onward journey!
