Today after Breakfast, dedicate a full day to Udaipur! Start with visiting Lake Pichola, which is an artificial lake located in the heart of Udaipur! The oldest and one of the largest lakes of the city, Lake Pichola is surrounded by towering hills, prominent palaces, eye-catching temples and bathing ghats. Have a boat-ride and get to know the lake’s four islands, namely Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas! While the Jag Niwas Island is located at the centre of Lake Pichola, Mohan Mandir is situated in its north-east corner. Arsi Vilas is found at its western side and Jag Mandir is situated at its southern end. The renowned Lake Palace stands in the middle of the lake on the Jag Niwas Island. Standing over Lake Pichola, the gorgeous City Palace of Udaipur is located at the lake’s eastern banks. The balconies, cupolas and towers of the palace offer a panoramic sight of the lake and the surrounding city. Built by Udai Singh II in 1559 to have a self-sufficient strategic defence mechanism, the premises of this fortress consist of four major and several minor palaces. The main part of the palace is now preserved as a museum exhibiting artefacts. City Palace Museum has a mammoth collection of sculptures, curios, antiques and inscriptions. Taj Fateh Prakash Palace is located inside the City Palace premises. Taj Fateh Prakash Palace houses a crystal gallery, boasting the largest private collection of crystal crockery in the world. Go to Fateh Sagar Lake! At a distance of 5 kms from the City Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in the north of Lake Pichola right across the Moti Magri Hill. The lake has three small islands. The largest among the three islands is Nehru Island, the second one has a public park and a remarkable water-jet fountain and the third island accommodates the Udaipur Solar Observatory. Prominent as the Garden or Courtyard of the Maidens, Saheliyon Ki Bari is located on the shores of Lake Fateh Sagar. It has verdant gardens, tall trees and pleasing fountains. The area truly symbolizes one of the 18th century landmarks. The beauty of Patio Nursery and a Lotus Pool with marble structures and statues, attracts you in jiffy. You can take a long relaxing stroll here. You can visit Maharana Pratap Memorial or Smarak, which is situated atop Moti Magri or Pearl Hill on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake. You get to see an 11-ft. high statue of Maharana Pratap, weighing 7 tonnes, with his loyal horse Chetak at this historic site. Later, go to Sajjangarh Palace! Located just on the peripheries of the city of Udaipur, you find Sajjangarh Palace on the top of a hill, which represents a past royal residence for the Mewar dynasty. The palace gets its name from Maharana Sajjan Singh, who built it in 1884. This forlorn palace gives you a glimpse into the charming history of Rajasthan. Come back to your hotel and take a little bit of rest! Later in the evening, go back to the City Palace to regale yourself with the Light and Sound Show! Conducted in the splendid courtyard of the Palace, the show educates viewers with Udaipur’s distinguished history, its legendary rulers and its famed cultural heritage in an immersive experience. Come back to your hotel! Overnight Stay at Udaipur
